Raise Your Voice: Why Educators Can't Stay Silent with Carla Ward
Many of us know that the education system is broken. We suck it up by trying to make it the best experience for our students. But do we use our voices to make sure we're heard?
Our voices can create a ripple effect, no matter what age we teach. When we use our voices, we stand up for ourselves as professionals. We stop the harmful rhetoric around teaching and especially around early childhood. We get to be proud of what we do rather than shy away from the horrifying questions we get on a daily basis.Ā
But what happens when we don't use our voices?Ā
Education stays the same. No changes can be made if no one speaks out. We, as teachers, are still not taken seriously when we ask for support.Ā
Carla has been using her voice on her platforms forĀ years now and is here to really help us understand what it means to raise our voice, how we can do so confidently, and in a professional, respectful manner. You don't have to be loud and extroverted to raise your voice. You can find a way to speak out in a way that feels good to you.Ā
