3 Ways to Help You Navigate Back to School Season

Back to school season brings up all kinds of feelings and emotions for both veteran and new teachers. It used to bring me feelings of unease, anxiety, and overwhelm until I started to learn and implement tools to help me move through those feelings and emotions. In today's episode, we dive into 3 tools you can use to help YOU as you start heading into the classroom for a brand new school year and help to set yourself up for an incredible year.

  • Prioritization. This is a tool I continuously talk about on and off the podcast. It's something I used to struggle with when I first started and still struggle with at times. It's something that can truly make a world of a difference in the way you work and how much time you're spending working.
  • Setting Boundaries. Once again, this is something I talk about constantly. It's something that has truly been a game changer for me in my 11 years in the education space.
  • Creating Time for YOU. When you stop putting yourself first and you start putting work and everyone else before you, you lose sight of who you are. I don't want that for you! I've been there before.

These are 3 tools I will ALWAYS use in my career, whether or not I'm in the classroom. These tools are invaluable to you both as a teacher but also as a human being trying to live on this earth. I hope you can continue to come back to these tools and learn to implement them in ways that make changes in your life and in your classroom.
